If your child is waking frequently and consistently throughout the night (e.g., every 2-3 hours or more) but pretty much falls back asleep quickly, perhaps after a quick feeding, then you do not need to log every waking. In the questionnaire we ask how frequent the night wakings are, so we'll know from that. Of course, if you are able to log each waking, then you will have a nicer visual display of what the night looked like.
If your child is awake for long periods at night, or is waking up infrequently, then please start and stop the timer so we will know when these wakings are occurring. The reason why is because a waking at the beginning of the night often has a different root cause than a waking in the early morning.
If your child makes noise and moves around for a few minutes but falls back asleep on his/her own without any parental assistance, then you do not need to log that awakening.
