Insights is data-driven guidance for age 0 - 18 months
Insights provides personalized guidance that grows with your child in the form of Tips and Miniplans from the age 0-18 months.
As you continue to track activities related to your child in Huckleberry, we’ll offer new support and ideas relevant to your child’s current development. We make sure our guidance is easy to understand, and deliver it when you need it.
We use parent preferences and monthly check-in questionnaires as well as data from tracking of your child’s activities to help us understand where your child is developmentally. We review feeding, sleep, and other patterns, then pair your tracked activities and responses with expert pediatric research to provide the best guidance, right when you need it.
How can I get Insights?
Huckleberry members with Plus or Premium and a child under 18 months have access to Insights.
How do you use parent preferences?
Parent preferences are household / lifestyle questions that we use to better tailor Insights based on your family's needs. Working parents may need different suggestions than stay-at-home parents, for example. This way, we can share guidance that makes sense for the whole family, not just your child.
How do you use the monthly questionnaire?
Things can change quickly, especially in those first few years of life. Our goal is to serve useful, timely information and meet your family where you are. Until your child is 12 months of age, you'll fill out a questionnaire each month. You can tell us what your child is learning and doing, along with any other personal preferences that may have changed from the previous month. At 12 months of age, the frequency will change to quarterly.
Can I re-do my monthly Insights check-in?
Yes. You can re-do your monthly check-in for Insights by tapping the 3 dots in the top-right of the screen.
A menu will open up with:
- Topic preferences
- Parent preferences
- Monthly check-in
Tap on "Monthly check-in" and you'll be able to make changes.
How do I turn off Insights topics that aren't useful to me?
For app version v240 and above, you'll be able to adjust your topic preferences to turn off topics that aren't useful to you in general or at the time.
What are the caregiver experiences in Insights?
We create a place where caregivers can share about their experience so you can hear from others who’ve walked the path you’re on now. All submissions are from real caregivers like you, who share practical hacks and lessons learned. Our pediatric experts review submissions before they're posted.
Through it all, our community is here with you.
What are Tips?
Tips are quick strategies and recommendations for you to help support your child’s development. From creative ways to introduce solids to promoting language development, Tips will include tools to better understand and support each stage of your little one’s individual growth.
How are Tips personalized to me and my child?
We share guidance based on your logged data and answers to the questionnaires, paired with age- or milestone-appropriate recommendations from our pediatric experts. This way, we can meet you and your child exactly where you are.
How often should I expect to get Tips?
The frequency varies based on your personalization preferences. We'll notify you of new Tips with a red dot indicator on your Insights icon.
How long can I see my Tips?
You can see the last 30 days of your Tips.
What are Miniplans?
Miniplans are practical, step-by-step plans that help you guide your child through new and exciting stages across development areas. We hope they help you have more space to be present and enjoy some of the milestones your child is working on.
When do I get Miniplans?
Starting at 5 months of age, we will have Miniplans delivered to you monthly. At 12 months the frequency will change to quarterly. There may be additional Miniplans that you receive throughout the month based on new information and patterns detected in your child’s data.
How do you determine which Miniplans to give me?
We take into account the child age, answers to parent preferences, answers to monthly questionnaires, and logged data.
How do I use Miniplans?
Some plans may be short, while others may be more in-depth — growth changes can take time and not every stage of development needs the same amount of effort. That’s why we personalize to your needs. Once you receive your Miniplan, take some time when you can to tackle it with your child. Pair it with your parenting gut instincts and your intuition, and focus on the parts of it that make the most sense for you.
How long can I see my Miniplans?
You can see your Miniplans for the the current and previous month.
