What are Lock Screen Updates?
Lock Screen Updates let you see real-time tracking info (like how long your baby has been sleeping or when they last ate) right on your phone's lock screen, without unlocking your phone.
Platform note: This feature is called Live Activities on iOS and Live Updates on Android. You may see either term depending on your device.
Which Lock Screen Updates are available?
We currently support Live activities that show:
- Sleep timer
- Nursing timer
- SweetSpot® (iOS only - coming soon on Android)
- Last time your child was fed.
How do I enable Lock Screen Updates on my phone?
On iOS
For Huckleberry Plus & Premium members, Live Activities should automatically be turned on for you. If you don’t see Live Activities, here are 5 things you should check:

- Update your Huckleberry app to the latest version
- Check that your iPhone version is IOS 16.1+
- Live Activities are only supported on devices running IOS 16.1 and above
- Open Settings app on your iPhone
- Scroll down and tap on Face ID and Passcode
- Scroll down and tap the toggle next to Live Activities to enable the feature
- Open Settings app on your iPhone
- Scroll down and tap on the Huckleberry app to open the menu
- Turn on Live Activities toggle
- Open Huckleberry App
- Navigate to settings
- Turn on toggles for Live Activities
On Android
Live Updates are available for Huckleberry Plus & Premium members running Android 16 or later. If you don't see them, check the following:
Update the Huckleberry app to the latest version
Check your Android version. Live Updates require Android 16 or later
- Check in-app settings
- Open the Huckleberry app
- Navigate to Settings
- Make sure the Live Updates toggles are enabled
What triggers Lock Screen Updates?
Unless you've turned them off, you'll see a Lock Screen Update appear when you:
- Start a sleep timer
- Start a nursing timer
- Log a sleep session or feeding
- Receive a SweetSpot

Can I turn on/off Lock Screen Updates for specific categories?
Yes. Open the Huckleberry app, go to Settings, and find the Live Activities (iOS) or Live Updates (Android) section. You can toggle individual lock screen updates (like Sleep or Last Feeding) on or off independently.
Why do my Live Activities display a 24hr format instead of 12hr AM/PM?
If you'd like to change your time display, navigate to the in-app settings and change the time format toggle to 12hr.
Note: If it’s already in 12hr format, please re-toggle it by tapping the 24hr toggle and then reselecting the 12hr toggle. It should now display the live activities in the 12hr format.
Do Lock Screen Updates work without wifi?
Yes, Live Activities should be supported in offline mode.
Does Lock Screen Updates support multiple timers for multiple children?
Yes, Lock Screen Updates should differentiate between child profiles as well as having a collapsed view when you run multiple timers at the same time.
Does Live Activities work with Dynamic Island? (iOS only)
Yes, we support Dynamic Island.
What’s the difference between a Widget and Lock Screen Update?
Widgets are mini versions of your app that live on the phone home-screen until you decide to remove them, and they are not related to any live events. Lock Screen Updates act as push notifications related to live events and display real-time data on your lock screen.
Is this available on iPad or Android tablet?
Lock Screen Updates are not currently supported on iPad. Performance on Android tablets depends on your specific device and manufacturer. Please check your device's operating system settings for live notification compatibility.
